The people who work at Act One Creative are very good at what they do. As a team, we have over 60 years’ combined experience in marketing, advertising and website design. As individuals, we are dedicated to giving clients our best efforts every day, on every job. This is who we are.

Nancy Brownstein (President) has over 25 years of experience in marketing and public relations, having served as President of Evergreen Advertising and Marketing, Inc., Executive Vice President of Harmon Advertising, and as President of Brownstein Associates where she was instrumental in getting the first phases of the Capitol Center for the Arts in place and operational, in addition to providing advertising services to a number of clients. Nancy’s expertise with marketing, web site design, graphic design, radio, television, print media, and client relations is extensive. Her skills also include art directing, and copy editing.

“A consistent image sets the tone and differentiates your business at a glance. The place to start is with a unique identity (logo, etc.) that fits the image of your organization. Logos and branding programs are my specialty.”

NANCY BROWNSTEIN
President

 

Ann Kontak (Art Director) comes to Act One Creative with more than 20 years of experience in graphic design and design education. Her love for design is apparent in both her award-winning design work and her good working relationships with our clients. Her background includes experience in graphic design, website design and execution, marketing, public relations, and publishing. She has taught at two major universities where she was known for her courses in typography, design integration and identity development.

“I think of design as a moving target. My job is not to work in any particular style, but to find the style that best meets the needs of the job at hand. Concepts like Rustic, Trustworthy, Organic, or High-tech need strongly crafted visuals and copywriting to communicate well. Our clients come to us for help in developing attractive, highly functional materials in digital and print media because they know we are experienced in branding and marketing strategies, and because we have excellent design aesthetics. ANN KONTAK
Art Director

 

Denise Estey (Graphic Design, Flash Animation & Social Media Specialist) a graduate of Colby-Sawyer College, has studied many forms of art, including graphic design, FLASH, photography and pottery. She received numerous awards and scholarships for her artwork and leadership skills, including the Nancy Pierce Scholarship Award for Excellence in Art and the Distinguished Service Award for Excellence in the Community. We’re particularly excited about her skills with FLASH animation — adding dimension to our services.

“I always knew I wanted to be a graphic designer, but I never knew I wanted to be an animator. Building Flash movies is a lot of fun for me and adds an extra sparkle to our clients' website presence. I'm also thrilled to be able to apply my knowledge of facebook, twitter, linkedin, and other social sites to the company."

Cail Desrochers (SEO & Web Programming) has been providing small businesses in Southern NH with custom designed websites for over eight years. Self-taught when the internet was still in its infancy and consisted only of basic HTML, he creates interactive and dynamic websites using a combination of XHTML, CSS, PHP and MySQL. Cail offers our clients more “bang for their buck” with his knowledge of SEO, Google tools (analytics, adwords, search tools, etc.) and other web-based tools.

CAIL DESROCHERS
Web Programer

Ted Sink (Copywriter) has been in advertising and public relations for over 25 years. In addition to running his own creative services business, he has been copy chief, senior copywriter and creative director at a number of New England ad agencies, among them R.W. Buckley & Co., Inc., Weston Advertising, Cooper G/K and Chalfin Kostopolous. His work has won him numerous Hatch, Graniteer and Broderson awards. His experience runs the gamut from retail to consumer goods and services, industrial and high tech; and includes such diverse fields as banking and finance, health care and biotechnology, computer hardware and software, restaurants and hotels, real estate, cosmetics, packaged goods, and more. We are thrilled to partner with him whenever the need arises.

Copywriter

Vicky Jaffe (Public Relations Expert) has 20 years of experience in the public, private and nonprofit sectors developing and implementing communications programs to increase awareness of issues and raise the visibility of corporate, government, social justice and healthcare initiatives. Most recently she worked at MS&L in Boston supporting healthcare clients including the Foundation for Informed Medical Decision Making, Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, the Lyme Disease Association, Children’s Hospital Boston and Hawaii Pacific Health hospital system. Prior to MS&L, Vicky served as the communications lead for Planned Parenthood of Northern New England and the NH Coalition Against Domestic & Sexual Violence. Vicky started her public relations career in Washington, DC serving as a senior press officer at the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) during the Clinton Administration.

VICKY JAFFE
Public Relations Expert

 

Lynda Martin (Office Manager) assists with billing, accounts receivable and general office management. She approaches everything with a can-do attitude, applying problem solving skills and critical thinking to each task. Her years of bookkeeping and professional office experience make Lynda a perfect match for the Act One Creative team. Lynda is precise, accurate, and good natured in everything she does. Prior to joining Act One, she worked for an accounting firm for several years as a full-charge bookkeeper and payroll processor, servicing a variety of businesses. She also has experience in loan servicing, restaurant management, and graphic design.
